Lisa Masterson: So early prevention is the key and starting in your early 20s, you want to do this breast self-examine and it's about knowing your breast architecture, not necessarily looking for breast masses.
So what you want to do is with the pads of your fingers, because they are most sensitive, you want to go around in a systematic fashion and you want to start off by the little clavicle, the hard bone up here and you want to go outside and around in concentric circles, just like a target.
So you are out to end. Now, you can also go in an up and down fashion. So you can go left to right as well, as long as you go in a systematic fashion. And do it right after your period, because that's when your breast is going to feel less tender and less lumpy bumpy, but breasts are lumpy bumpy. Again, it's knowing your architecture.
