(Image source: Forbes )   BY LOGAN TITTLE   If you thought Viagra was only good for that extra boost in the bedroom—you might be surprised to find its help can also extend to other areas, like the scale.   “New research out of Germany suggests Viagra may stimulate fat cells turning them into brown fat cells. Brown cells burn off other fat for energy.” (via WUSA )   Researchers at the University of Bonn reported their findings in The Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology After testing and monitoring mice for seven days, the team found even when they were fed a high fat diet,the mice were resistant to obesity. One scientist described the results as “quite amazing.”   But Anderson Cooper explains the little blue pill hasn’t been tested to whittle waistlines on humans just yet. “...the pill is not approved for this use because we—I would hate to have a lot of horny people out there trying this thing and realizing it’s not working.” (via KTVU )   But the drug has been tested for something else that people could also look forward to. Turns out it might also help fight cancer. WGHP explains how the drug works with green tea.   “Certain extracts in green-tea help fight cancer. However, enzymes in the human body block the tea's effectiveness …  the magic pill also inhibits those enzymes and allows those green-tea extracts to do their thing.”   The enzyme, known as EGCG, was believed to prevent carcinogenesis—or the creation of cancer—but scientists questioned how effective it really was until they realized a human enzyme, PDE5, was actually blocking EGCG.   The Japan Daily Press explains scientists implanted human breast cancer cells in mice and when given a combination of green tea and Viagra, the malignant cells completely disappeared.   The study reportedly proved to be more effective in treating other types of cancer as well. But again, researchers aren’t encouraging anyone to use the pill for anything other than its recommended use right now. Human trials on cancer patients in the United States will reportedly begin later this year.
