Believe it or not, Russell Brand was arrested and thrown in jail for the little iphone incident, but he is a free man now!

Russell Brand probably didn't know the huge consequences that would follow his cell phone snatching fiasco. He grabbed a paparazzo's iphone and threw it through a window, which doesn't seem like a major crime.

Even though Russell offered to pay for the damage to the window, a warrant was still issued for his arrest. So Russell had no choice but to turn himself in to the New Orleans Sheriff's Office, where he was booked on two misdemeanor counts of simple criminal damage to property.??Russell was released pretty quickly though. He forked over $5,000 for the bond and walked out a free man. ??And Russell did pay to get that window repaired. You'd think it would be a fortune since the damage was enough to get him thrown behind bars, but no….the total cost to fix the window--$240.
