Male: I’m going to just keep this little pin in the water. There’s a bunch of fish right towards that rock—the right hand side of it. Throw your rod right and crank that sucker. There was a bunch of fish that follow that out which is basically where you just got here is two. Little guy but there’s a bunch of them in there.
Dan Hernandez: You still got shores on? There’s yours.
Male: Little peanut.
Dan Hernandez: All right. Here we go.
Male: What I tell you.
Dan Hernandez: Right here, I got another one right here another Calico Bass working out our fish hole. Again, this is the --stick custom rod, beluga reel, 17-pound aid in red line and it’s just doing a job and its so nice being in a speedy boat, being really close in here. We’re fishing tight like spore pod never do that. I just let this guy go right here.
Do it right, not a big treat. It’s a nice little bass. There he goes. All right, like Eric said all we’re doing is fishing is little pocket. You see to where the Calico place there. One little natural pockets we’re still in the base there, that’s all there is to it. Just wind as fast as you can. Here we go, got another one going here. Nice fish. These are all nice fish Eric.
Eric: Yeah, definitely.
Dan Hernandez: Nice Calico. The only thing I did different was I switch baits, same baits just different colors because the one I have wasn’t swimming straight that I danced it up so many rocks casting at islands today. I just switched them. Another nice beautiful Calico Bass, there it goes and this is what we’re using. Same bait, long bill, 17 pounds paint in red and just fishing this pocket just like Eric suggested. When that last fish I was working it back. I had a piece kelp, I stop to lower it so when it get stock in there and as it float it up the Calico came up and slammed it and I got it in. So, that’s all we’re doing. We’re working together on this little pockets, work on the baits I think got another fish.
There you go.
Male: Little peanut but that’s okay.
Dan Hernandez: They all count on the fish count.
Male: Smaller one but that’s okay.
Dan Hernandez: There we go, here’s another one just another little Calico, small Calico Bass. This has been a long day. In our last week’s episode, we showed you we’re catching Sculpin and then later the same day is what you seen today catching Calico Bass and they’re just been some awesome bass here. I know there’s some bigger one yet to come but it’s a beautiful day being out here. 4th of July weekend—island. Doesn’t get much better than this. There we go.
