Clock passing the 50 hours, 25 minutes and 1 second markSTORYLINE:Four Thai couples broke the world record for the longest continuous kiss on Thursday, which is appropriately Valentine's day. They were still standing - their lips pressed together - to pass the mark of 50 hours, 25 minutes and 1 second set last year. The contest may celebrate love but the rules are brutal: no sitting, no sleeping, no rest breaks, lips must be in contact at all times, and incontinence pads or adult nappies (diapers) are banned. Even if they need to go to the bathroom they must go together, still kissing. The organisers marked the place in the Guinness Records; not so the contestants. With 100-thousand baht (approximately 3300 US dollars) in cash at stake for the ultimate winners, plus 2 diamond rings worth the same amount, and a free holiday, the remaining couples were still continuing the contest. The organizers say the intention of this marathon is to focus attention on virtue.
