The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office described conditions as extremely dangerous and slippery, with multiple pileups, including a fatal rollover on I-94 eastbound at Highway 100. There had been so many crashes that the Wisconsin State Patrol hadn't compiled a count. But multiple accidents had been reported Interstates 94 and 894, as well as I-39 and I-90. Authorities recommended no travel in Racine County, where a multiple-car pileup required the closure of I-94 southbound. There were multiple pileups, smaller accidents and cars off the road along the closed section of I-94 southbound near Racine. All southbound lanes on I-39 near Janesville were blocked by multiple crashes for nearly two hours before they reopened.One pileup in Milwaukee was captured by a Department of Transportation tower camera. 30 vehicles were involved.(****END****)
