Hi there. So today I am going to show you how to do a smokey eyes with a little bit of a twist on it.
Now the first thing I am going to do is take my Cover Girl True Blend liquid make-up in classic beige and squirt a little bit on to a sponge and then lightly dab it on to my eyelids as a primer for my eye shadow. After that dries for a few seconds, I am going to take Cover Girl eye shadow and this one is a pack of four. The number is 222 eye enhancers and I am going to take this silvery color, the silvery gray and I am going to put it on my eye shadow brush and I am going to put it in the corners of my eye.
Now usually a smokey eye involves grays and blacks. But the twist on mine is to put purple into it. Now there is a purple that comes in this pack. It’s more like a wine and I am just going to blend that in with a silver to the end of my eye, and then do that on the other side.
Once you have your gray and silver on, you can start to dab it in together to make it not look like there are two colors side by side but blend a little bit more. And then last, I am going to take this dark grayish black, I guess it’s black, and then put it on the outer corner and you will be overlapping all these colors with each other. The last step for the eye shadow, I am actually going to use a color in pearl and I am going to put that on my brow bone just to enhance that a little bit, and then as you are doing that, blend in all the other colors with each other.
And then after that, what you can do is you can go over your colors one more time just to make them darker. After all, this is a smokey eye. What I like to use because I have bigger eyes are false eyelashes and I like to use Ardell’s lashes. They have very long ones, short ones, whichever you prefer. And the trick to using these eyelashes is to let the adhesive dry for about 30 seconds before you put them on your eyes. And I also like to use DUO Eyelash Adhesive in dark tone because once you apply it, it kind of looks like an eyeliner all ready. Now if you have clear glue, you can take a liquid liner and put it over the white glue after it is dry to cover up a little bit more.
I am going to actually crimp my real eye lashes so they blend in a little bit more and it doesn’t look like I have a double layer of lashes. And then, what I also like to do to make my eyes actually pop a little bit more is take Cover Girl Perfect Blend Eyeliner in black and line the inner rims of my eyes. I first start with the upper lid. Make sure your pencil is also sharpened. Otherwise, you are going to get wood chips in your eye. Okay, now that that is on my eyelashes, that’s probably dry, and what you are going to want to do is you are going to want to just bend them a little bit so they are not like that straight look, so they form to your eye a little bit more when you apply them and then get them as close as possible to your lash line.
Now, you don’t have to use eyelashes when you are going out only. I use mine all the time just to give my eyes a little bit more of an edge, even if I do basic eye shadows. You don’t have to do long ones, you can do short ones also.
Okay, so after you have your eyelashes on and you are letting your glue dry, you can fill in your eyebrows. I like to fill mine in with a darker shade because my eyes are already darker because the smokey eye, because I want to make them the focal point and make everything around them stand out. So I am going to use Clinique Teddy Bear, the two darker shades, blend them together and go over my eyebrows just to fill them in a little bit and make them stand out. You fill those in, any spots that have missing eyebrows, little bare spots, just make them look perfect.
Now that that’s done, I am going to do the bottom half of my eyes and I am going to take an eyeliner brush and take actually the same colors that I used for my actual eyes and I am going to do the purple once again on the bottom line. I want to do that towards the inner corner. And then just do black on the outside.
After you have done the bottom of your eyes, you can take your Cover Girl pencil and you are going to once again line the inner rims of your bottom lid. You pretty much want your entire eye to be encircled by black. And then if you want, you can go over the top one again. And now, after that’s on, you can take your mascara and I use Cover Girl Lash Blast in black. And even with my false eyelashes on, you still want to put mascara on them so you can blend and make them stand out and curl more, and blend your real eyelashes in to them.
Alright, and now that you have completed your smokey eye, your last touch is just to add your lip color. I actually chose a nude lip because I already have so much focus on my eyes, so I went with Lip Smackers Chapstick in Tropical Punch and you are all set.
