RODA COACH RUUD BROOD CELEBRATES WITH HIS COACHING STAFF STORY: PSV Eindhoven missed out on the chance of going top of the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday (October 27) as they lost 2-1 away to Roda JC. Despite taking the lead, Phillip Cocu's team let all three points slip as they finished with 10 men after Memphis Depay was sent off in the 72nd minute and goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton was carried away in an ambulance in stoppage time. PSV went in front in the ninth minute when Tim Matavz linked up well with Memphis Depay and when the striker received the ball back he chipped it over goalkeeper Filip Kurto and into the net. Roda could have equalised in the 37th minute when Mark-Jan Fledderus passed the ball to Wiljan Pluim whose shot was blocked by Tyton and Fledderus steered the rebound wide. PSV were also guilty of missing a golden opportunity when Oscar Hiljemark's effort hit the post in the 41st minute. After halftime, Roda pulled the game level in the 68th minute when Guus Hupperts slipped the ball through to Fledderus who just had to poke the ball through Tyton's legs to score from close range. It went from bad to worse for PSV four minutes later as Depay was shown a second yellow card and sent off after leaving his studs in on Henk Dijkhuizen. Roda took the lead with five minutes of normal time remaining when former Liverpool striker Krisztian Nemeth struck from outside the penalty area to the delight of the home crowd. The home team continued to search for a third goal to kill the game off and nearly did when Marc Hocher's free kick had to be tipped over the crossbar by Tyton in the second minute of time added on. Tyton collided with the post after diving to save Hocher's effort and the game was delayed by 18 minutes as medical staff put the Poland international on a stretcher before he was taken away in an ambulance. Roda saw out the remaining three minutes of stoppage time as Ruud Brood's team recorded their fourth victory of the season. Roda have 16 points from their 11 games while PSV remain on 18 points and were third in the table before Feyenoord's match against Heracles which kicked off at 1330GMT.
