VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

The owner of the "Ikea monkey" Yasmin Nakhuda protested for his return in Toronto on Wednesday (December 19). Nakhuda demonstrated outside Toronto's Animal Services offices, the agency that took the rhesus macaque monkey away from her. The monkey, named Darwin, is an exotic animal and is illegal in Toronto. Shoppers at an Ikea home furnishings store in Toronto were shocked earlier this month when a monkey dressed in a shearling coat was roaming through the store's parking lot.
