Protecting Children's Rights in Somalia
Narrator: You are watching UNICEF Television.
Somalia, a nation that has been in conflict for the past 16 years, a country where many children have grown up not knowing a government or what it means to have a national education system, clean water or protection.
Narrator: We don’t have anything to eat. I don’t have a good life in this camp.
Male: Other children on the world have rights but not us.
Narrator: And this young man hopes one day to dream of football and not food.
Christian Balslev Olesen: Children in Somalia today are living in the most difficult environment that you can find. Today, we would like you to listen to young people inside Somalia reminding us, all of us of our responsibility that the right of the child is for each and everyone in Somalia and the rest of the world.
Welcome to UNICEF studios at Aol On.
Founded in 1946, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized.
