Image Source: KCNC/Bill Robles BY KERRY LEARY ANCHOR CHRISTIAN BRYANT Information continues to surface as the preliminary trial for the Aurora movie theater shooting suspect James Holmes entered its third day Wednesday morning in Centennial, Colorado. The Denver Post reports Holmes took photos of the interior of the movie theater, the door hinges and the back doors a month before the massacre, showing examples from his cell phone. The prosecution also showed photos Holmes took of himself the night of the shootings, noting the photos help show Holmes’ "identity, deliberation and extreme indifference." The prosecution made its closing arguments Wednesday, and then the defense began. KUSA reports: “The defense has been focusing on mental illness and how it may have impacted James Holmes’ actions.” However, Holmes’ defense team waived their presentation of witnesses to speak about his mental state, noting they had considered the prosecution’s evidence and changed their position. 9-1-1 calls, personal accounts of the night of July 20 and detailed description of Holmes’ booby-trapped apartment were just some of the things that surfaced Monday and Tuesday. The Arapahoe County judge will now decide whether there is enough to proceed to trial. Holmes has been charged with 166 counts including murder and attempted murder. 12 were killed and 58 were wounded in the movie theater shooting.
