Process of Painting a Wolf

Today I am here to introduce to you in Motion Art and how the process, one of the process on how I do some of my artwork. And I start with blank canvass, 20 by 24 drawing sketch pad. You can get it in any art store and I just put it on easel so it’s just a little bit easier to work with. And I get into a feeling that I can connect with or what is surfacing and today for me is the need to express. I need to share with others just something that I need to voice and so I used to pick an image. And today I picked the wolf. And he’s yelling out, he’s opened his mouth and he is full force and so this really spoke to me. That’s just for my calendar that I picked up and so I really connect with this wolf.

So I’m going to use this image to express onto paper and see what that feels like because the need is so intense that I have to put it on paper. And so what I scheduled out first with is artist charcoal, Winsor and Newton is what I use with the vine charcoal is very easy to work with. And so I usually just sketch out—I use my hand a lot in order to do some measurements and not get so wrapped up into what it looks like or what is it --for basing is what it is going to feel like and so my lines right now are big thing. So my ear coming out like this and then they’ll going to look in there and then my mouth, the mouth is where I really want to share the expression, so how loud and how it’s opening up to the world, how its sharing with others and so there are measure like it is. This is definitely just sketch, just a sketch or trying to get my feelings out.

The mouth, the mouth is really where I want to get into this. So there’s a simple sketch of the wolf. The ears, growling and growling up to the world seeing out if you can just share it growling in a good way though. So now it brings some color in, let’s do in blue, really what calling my name right now. And then with dark colors I look it like kind of like the shadows are and look at where the shadows are and try to mimic that to my color. Instead of using the exact paint color I use more of the expressionistic form of it. Put some dark here.

Put on really is a green, the greens a color because right now I’m feeling kind of not bearing one like I’m going to be relic that I’m tending to be cold but I need to work more right here in the mouth area. So I feel an expression. And more blue. You can see how it’s lighter right here. I can even use a lighter color that kind of go with that blue. Right there and there’s some color on the ears, really want to emphasize the mouth. And then, I want to bring out the feel of—what it’s going to feel like when I talk, when I really just open my mouth and that’s when the color is going to come out where I feel very healed right in there.

I think it’s going to be great and how I really feel with it because this line, the oranges is really and pinks. Pinks are big color for me. Purple, now I’m getting the beauty of that’s correcting me, correcting my feelings. Now I’m just going to hide and I mix all together. I’m going to outline him and now open mouth if there is only open mouth for that’s my expression right now. So there, right there is. I’m feeling the color as I’m feeling the color of these. So all you need is a--it really expresses.

So there is the wolf doing this out, out, out. So there is my wolf expressing itself. Thank you for watching and I think that kind of got the feel of what could—it doesn’t need to be perfect, you just feel it. You feel like the colors, you feel the lines and that is a motion art.
