Pro Skater Bam Margera Talks about Philanthropy

Max Flower: Hi, I’m Max Flower. I’m here with Bam Margera. He is going to talk to us about his charity and philanthropic work, Bam?

Bam Margera: Howdy! I have a charity with the high school that I went to called East and I basically give $5,000.00 to the kid who can make the best short film because I like this whole editing program there now. So, it’s called the “Bam Margera” scholarship and then I do a lot with the Special Olympics because my wife at that time has a sister with Down Syndrome.

Max Flower: How long have you been involved with the Special Olympics?

Bam Margera: For about three years now.

Max Flower: And the short films that you give scholarships for, how many short films have you given scholarships for?

Bam Margera: That’s been going on now for about four years and it’s only once a year but I have to look through like 30 or 40 short films and just picked the best one.

Max Flower: What inspired you to do that, Bam?

Bam Margera: Well, I don’t know. It’s the high school that I went to so I figured out to help them out.
