Melanie Raposo: Hi everybody! I'm Melanie Raposo and welcome to The Pregnancy Show.
Today, Andrea Page, personal trainer and founder of Fit Mom Canada talks about how prenatal exercise can promote circulation and prevent varicose veins.
Andrea Page: Exercise during pregnancy is not just important for preparing from labor and delivery and muscular imbalances, but there is also a certain amount of complications in late pregnancy that can be put at bay with exercise.
Exercise in general can help promote healthy circulation, so anybody who is prone to vascularity or what we call varicose veins during pregnancy and even laxative pregnancy will benefit from a regular exercise routine.
However, keeping in mind that once they are present, once varicose veins are present, modifications need to be incorporated into the workout to make sure that you are not aggravating a condition that's already present.
