(Image source: ABC News )   BY LOGAN TITTLE   Three people are dead, including the gunman, in a shooting at a Portland, Oregon mall Tuesday night. The BBC reports.   “We believe that there was one, and only one shooter involved and he is deceased.” … “Sheriffs say they did not fire a single shot and it appears he took his own life.”   The Associated Press reports hundreds ran for exits while others ran into department stores and hid where they could find cover as the gunman fired several rounds from a semi-automatic rifle. Sky News has one witness’s reaction.   “I saw a few people running into Sears … saying they heard shots … I wasn’t sure if it was for real at first and then I saw the reaction on their faces.”   CNN reports witnesses say at least 20 shots were fired from the shooter who was wearing a hockey mask and a bulletproof vest.   “And I heard ‘I am the shooter,’ and all of a sudden five, six round just echoing.” “Two shots were fired and everybody just kind of looked around … and then more shots were fired … and everybody started to hit the ground.”   Authorities are waiting for relatives of the victims to be notified before releasing their identities to the public. Investigators say they have tentatively identified the shooter but are waiting for confirmation before releasing his name.
