A Chicago police detective said to be investigating several robberies in the city follows possible leads to East Hazel Crest,
and ends up shooting and killing a man.
Officers were conducting surveillance around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of West 171st Street when they saw 27 year-old Ryan Rogers and a woman get into a vehicle.
The officers went up to Rogers and the woman. Police say Rogers then drove the car straight at the officers and hit the officers’ vehicle.
