Plumbing-Replace Toilet Tank Lever by HomeAdditionPlus.com
Hi I am mark Donavon from HomeAdditionPlus.com and today I am going to show you how to replace a toilet tank lever. After many years this twirl tank lever has just kind of decade and correlative to the point where it can no longer lift the toilet flapper easily so what we are going to do is replace this whole corroded out tank lever with a new tank lever this got a plastic arm on it.
To begin with, we are going to turn of water to the toilet so we going to close of this valve, so that we can drain water from he tank. Now we drain most of the water from the tank by flipping up on the tank lever we are going to unclip the chain assembly from the tank lever and then we are going use a pair a wrench and remove the tank lever from the toilet tank and there is our old lever as you can see its decay quite significantly over the years.
Now we are going to take our new to toilet tank lever and slide to through the tank level hole then we attach our knot to the back side of it and then slightly tighten it up. You do not want to over tighten this or else it would not turn well and you would slide it down very gently with our custom wrench and that should do it.
Now that we have attached our toilet tank lever, we are going to attach the shame assembly to the tank lever itself and we are going to turn the lever back on. Now, we are going to fill this up and we are going to test it. Now that the tank is filled with water, we are going to push on the tank lever to make sure that flapper goes up properly and then closes back down properly. And the waters drained from the tank, the flapper goes back down and the water is now flowing up with the tank in so this is now working properly and it is completed and the replacement of the tank lever assembly.
So there you go it took about ten minutes to replace this toilet tank lever. All we require is a cross wrench or a pair pliers and abut a $10.00 tank lever assembly. So, go up with your toilet tank lever replacement. If you have any other home improvement questions visit us at HomeAdditionPlus.com today. Thanks and have a good day.
