Chef Catherine DeOrio: Hi I am Chef Cat DeOrio with Sara Lee. The holidays are so stressful. The kids are all home from school and they are hungry. So I am going to show you how to make a simple yet special meal solution.
We are going to do a Pizza Dog, a favorite with everyone in my family. We are going to use Ball Park Franks and we are going to Sara Lee Soft & Smooth Whole Grain White Hot Dog Buns. You get all the benefits of whole grain but still the great traditional flavor of an all while hot dog bun.
We are going to start with our franks already in the buns, and then we are going to use some jarred Marinara sauce or a Pizza sauce from the store. You might even have this in your cupboard, but don't slave over this at home. It's better just to use premade stuff.
You are going to heap this onto your dog, and you are going to have the oven preheated to 400 while you are doing this, so that you can bake these off. Then you are going to top it with Mozzarella cheese, and I love cheese, so I put a ton extra, with the gooey one that comes out of the oven.
That's it. You are going to pop it in the oven at 400 for about 10 minutes, till the hot dog is heated through, the sauces are warm and bubbly, and that cheese has melted all over the top. There you have it, a perfect meal for that hungry team. Look at how fun it is, and it smells delicious, and it’s a crowd pleaser everyday.
