Hi, this is Doctor Debra from topworkoutsecrets.com. And I'm here today to show you the Pineapple A-Go-Go Green Smoothie. So, I got a pineapple that I've just—my pineapple core slicer actually broke so all I did was just cut the rind off and I've already used a little bit of it. That calls for half a pineapple. Chunk it up. This way without doing the coring it's kind of nice because it gives you the fiber from the core. So there were all the sweet juicy parts. Into the blender and pineapple is a powerhouse of vitamin C and it's being in the bloom season I guess. It's nice to have that extra vitamin C.
And then I'm going to try and peel this lime. Again, lots of vitamin C. The limes are quite the toughest. If you a good way to peel a lime you know, good way to peel a lime, let me know because I haven’t found it yet. They are tough. They’re really tough. This is why a lot of things call for lime zest. This may end up with some inadvertent lime peel zest. It's just fine.
So if you wanted, you could just juice it. I used the juice of the lime. So evidently, if you cut it in quarters and peel it off like an orange, here we go. All right, so an easy way to peel a lime. Cut it in quarters and just hand peel it out. I've got this nice gigantic organic mango that I've just used a vegetable peeler and took the peel off the outside. Then I'm going to cut down along the pith. Here we go.
Just cut it up. This is looking really good, a really nice mango. It's hard enough to just eat some of this fruit along the way before it's blended up. I will cut the side away from the pith of the mango so that there is very little waste in this one. This could be a little bit ripe. Parts of it are a little firm. Okay, so already even without the greens we've got lots of vitamin C good for boosting the immune system. It's got vitamin B6 which is good for blood sugar regulation and nerve conduction. I've got manganese and I've got vitamin A actually from the mango, so really good for vision.
I guess as fewer people are eating fresh food or seeing more issues with vision and macular degeneration, all of these things. So vitamin A and also vitamin A is good or the skin, good for the immune system. So this is really an immune system boosting smoothie. You put about a cup of water to start. Give that whirl. Blend up the fruit. You usually want to start with the juicy parts first.
I guess just one percussion with the mango. There are some people who are allergic to the mango skin. I guess it has some histamines in it or something, so just be careful to avoid the peel especially if you're sensitive to it. So this is just a mix of baby greens from Costco. Let me try to put three handfuls in there. I guess it's appropriate. I have my Hawaii shirt on when I'm doing a mango and a pineapple and tropical.
I noticed I don’t get quite that fiber and green color because there are a lot of red leaf lettuces in this. Baby greens mix, that smells really good. Give it a taste test. That’s really, really good. I'm going to go ahead and put another handful of greens in it. That’s excellent though. It was a really nice mango. I tried to taste and put as much greens in as possible, all that nice fiber and minerals and vitamins. The greens are really help bounce out the sugars of the fruits. It helps give you that nice full feeling so you're not hungry. Those are making a giant batch. So, ate all this and you won't be hungry.
I'm going to add a little more water. Just a little, it's thick even for me. Okay, all right so I added up with about a cup and ½ of water and it's still really pretty thick smoothie. So, water is just based on how thick you like yours. And again, you can vary your greens. You could use spinach, maybe even some celery or romaine or kale. I just happen to pick the salad greens this morning.
So, again that’s pineapple and mango, lime, greens and water. That’s your pineapple a-go-go smoothie. It's really nice. That’s an addictive smoothie. So, give that one a try and let me know what you think of it and drink some morning sunshine, morning vitamin C and energy booster. Have a great day.
