Another name in nocturnal mammal often found in parks and gardens is the wood mouse and you can use the same type of techniques for photographing something as small as that. Available today are these automatic infrareds TTL flash units that can actually focus in the dark and I’ve noticed over the last few days the family of wood mice have been coming out in this area, which actually is just needing some bird feeders, and they’re picking up a stray seed that’s just fallen out or shaken up by the birds. So I’ve got rigged opaque TTL flash rig, it’s an easing for odd units; we’re doing exactly the same thing in technique as the badgers. Both these flash units controlled by this controller on the top, it’s a great portable rig, ideal for use in dark conditions and can get you some great shots.
