Speaker: This car has really hit the headlines in the Copenhagen. For while still in disguised the, Volvo S60 successfully weighted the terms of many parts of body. The drive through the Danish capital serves to try out, Volvo's new safety technology scheduled to enter the market in the S6. A system which detects pedestrians and is even able to apply the brakes all by itself.
Jonas Tisell: I think there what you have is we are using a great under camera in the car, that actually scans the area in front of the car. And if we see that something is staying just in front of the car, it will give you a warning and if you don't do anything to the warning, it will perform auto braking.
Speaker: Volvo's engineers have been working for ten years on a system able to prevent accidents with pedestrians. And since Copenhagen is a busy place, this is the ideal testing area for the prototype of the Volvo S60 with it's pedestrians detection system.
The engineers at Volvo plan to develop this revolutionary system to a level where it is able to totally avoid collisions with pedestrians up to a speed of 25 kmh. And they still have sometime to reach this objective, since the Volvo S60, will not be entering the market until 2010.
