It's the first day of classes since a massacre 10 miles away in Newtown left 20 children and 6 adults.Parent Manuel Moreno said "right now probably everybody is scared about what happened last friday." But Moreno said parents were relieved to see police presence at the school. "We were just told now that the police are going to be everywhere so the kids will be safe. All the parents will be so happy." Another parent, Rudy McCarley, said his daughter asked him Sunday if she was safe at school. He said "for me one of the safest places i thought would be the school besides home and after friday it's a little scary." But he said "if i didn't feel safe enough, i would have let her come to school." Katherine Tovar, who took her cousin to school, said she's concerned and hopes "they reinforce the schools and everything."(****END****)
