Packing and Shipping Holiday Gifts
My name is Dolores Killette. I'm vice president and consumer advocate at the United States Postal Service. And today I am going to show you how to properly pack and ship holiday gifts.
First I will show you what not to ship. Ship packing and sealing tips show you how to correctly address gifts including packages, going to troops overseas and help you to choose the right service to make sure your gifts arrive in time for the holiday. Some materials you’ll need will include a sturdy box, some packing tape, some cushioning and a black magic marker or pen. Before we begin, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
As a consumer advocate, I'm a responsible for ensuring that quick, easy and convenient service for customers just like you. Prior to this position, I served in the Nation’s capital as post master of Washington DC. The holiday seasons is a busy time of year for everyone including the Postal Service. We will deliver 19 billion cards, letters and packages this holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas eve. We will move this mail using half ton trucks, mini-vans, bicycles and yes even news.
The bottom line, the Postal Service is ready to deliver this year. You're ready to become a pro, let’s get started.
