Let us spend a few minutes reviewing the office file button. This big button up here on the left and it really is the only thing close to a menu that power point has available any longer. As you can see when you click the office file button you have a number of options related to file management. You can use file open as we did when we begin the lesson to open a new file or you can use safe to save your file or save as to have a variety of formats to save your file in. On the prepare menu we have a number of options available to help you prepare your file to share with others and you can send your file via email or fax from directly within power point.
And on the publish menu this is where you would package for CD or create handouts. Let us take a second and look at the new option, file new this opens a dialogue that gives you a variety of the options for beginning a new presentation. Of course you see here the default is to begin with a blank presentation.
You can also click installed templates, these are templates that actually shift with power point 2007 and are available for your use. If you click installed themes these are the same themes that we saw earlier in the gallery on the design tab, these also shift with power point and are available for your use.
My templates are templates that you may have installed or your corporation may have installed for you to use with power point or you can also select new from existing and this means that you are going to begin a new presentation based on an existing file.
You see the large section beneath this is labeled Microsoft Office online. This make online template available to you. Of course you need and internet connection in order to access this and if you click this you will see what is being currently featured on Microsoft office online for your use. Here we have a basic organization chart and employed performance of word and a calendar that you could click and begin a new presentation based on any of this.
You will also see agendas, there is a word certificate, calendars, design slides, and then you have various lists underneath that. Of course you can always click in the search box up here. Type in the keyword and search Microsoft office online for any kind of template.
So maybe if you are searching for academic templates you would type the word academic and then you would see this variety that you could choose from.
