Dr. Lisa: But also you created a device to help women do self breast exams which I'm very passionate about.

Olivia Newton-John: Yes. It is to encourage regular self-exam because I found my lump by my own hand and a lot of women are afraid to look and they're afraid to go for examination. And you know at a certain age well you should actually start regular self-exam at 20, right docs?

Male: Yes.

Dr. Lisa: I say 20.

Olivia Newton-John: You have to get into habit of it so that you know what’s normal for you because every woman is different and so what is normal for you may not be the same for somebody else. Once know what normal for you then you'll notice any changes more easily and that is what the Liv is for. It’s to enhance your touch.

Male: You said get to know your breast.

Olivia Newton-John: That’s right.

Dr. Lisa: How many of you women out there do do-it-yourself breast exams? Okay, that’s pretty good but we need more. Who wants to come up and learn how to do a self breast exam today? How about you in the yellow?

Kelly: Yes. Hi, I'm Kelly.

Olivia Newton-John: How are you? Nice to meet you Kelly.

Dr. Lisa: Pop up right there. So now tell me, we know some of the reasons that women don’t want to do their self breast exam, why don’t you want to do self breast exam?

Kelly: I think I just don’t know what I'm feeling. It could be normal, it could be a rib. I mean I don’t what’s going on.

Dr. Lisa: That’s why you have to start doing it to get to know your breast architecture.

Kelly: And it’s awkward.

Dr. Lisa: So we’re going to show you, and this is the Liv-Aid.

Olivia Newton-John: This is the Liv-Aid and it’s in a hear shape, so if you love yourself enough you would do this regularly. It’s really to enhance your touch and to get you used to what is normal for you and kind of create your own database in your mind because the more you do it you go – oh this was here last month and so that’s normal. But if its something that isn’t it will show up and you'll be aware of it.

Kelly: Okay.

Olivia Newton-John: I’ll show you a really simple test that is really cool. This is how I discovered it years ago. So we put a little salt, I'll use the dummy. So if you want to just put your finger on the salt and feel and feel what it feels like with your fingers – just your fingers on the salt/

Kelly: Okay.

Olivia Newton-John: And then we’re going to put the Liv on top and do the same thing and you'll feel how it enhances your touch.

Kelly: Oh cool!

Olivia Newton-John: Do you feel that? So it feels larger.

Kelly: Yeah.

Olivia Newton-John: And the thing with the Liv is you don’t have to take your hand off and move it. You do a little circle because it has no friction. So feel that now, you can do all the circles all around your breast with this on top.

Kelly: Okay.

Olivia Newton-John: And I think for young girls this is a little maybe embarrassing because you have something in between—but it’s kind of cute as well because it’s pink.

Dr. Lisa: It’s pink and its heart and sometimes you need that to get started.

Olivia Newton-John: It really makes it easier and it reminds you when you keep this in your bathroom or somewhere you're going to sit regularly so once a month you do it as a regular thing.

Kelly: Okay.
