(Image Source:  ITV/NYStateDepartment )   BY ELAINE STOCKDALE ANCHOR CHRISTIAN BRYANT The New York Police Department has identified a New York man as a suspect in the hit-and-run deaths of a pregnant woman, her husband, and their unborn baby on Monday.   NYPD spokesman Paul Browne named 44-year-old Julio Acevedo as that suspect. [Via: IBTimes ] Acevedo had been driving at least 60 mph in a 30 mph area when he slammed his BMW into a taxi carrying Nachman and pregnant Raizy Glauber to a Williamsburg area hospital early Sunday. It’s unknown if Acevedo was under the influence however, he had been previously arrested in February on DWI charges. [Via: TheAge ] The 21 year-old-couple and baby boy were part of the largest ultra-orthodox Jewish community outside of Israel. A leader of the family’s 250,000 Orthodox Jewish community, Isaac Abraham, said,  “We in the community are demanding that the prosecutor charge the driver ... This coward left the scene...not bothering to check on the people of the car.” [Via: The Guardian ]   The tragedy has brought devastation and anger to both family and friends in the tight-knit Satmar community, who looked forward to the young family’s future. “Whoever did not go through this can’t even contemplate what this is, to lose a sister and her husband and more at once so suddenly.” [Via: WABC ] According to CBS News , police said the BMW’s registered owner was not 44-year-old Acevedo but rather 29-year-old Takia Walker who was not in the car at the time. It is believed that Walker gave the car to a middleman who had either rented or lent out the BMW to Acevedo. A State Department spokeswoman said Acevedo served almost ten years in state prison for a manslaughter charge in 1989 and also violated parole once shortly after. He is not in custody.
