Not So Fast! Chicago Teachers Remain On Strike

The Chicago Teachers Union's House of Delegates did not vote Sunday to suspend the strike. There will be no school Monday.

The earliest CPS schools could resume would be Wednesday.
The proposed contract was presented to the union's House of Delegates this afternoon, where leaders tried to persuade skeptical delegates to accept the deal and end the weeklong strike.
But no vote had been taken late in the afternoon, and sources said the strike would continue Monday.
