Twenty-eight years after his death, a statue of Kim Il-sung stands in Pyongyang. And right next to it, one of his son, Kim Jong-il. Kim Il-sung, the founder of North Korea, was given a memorial service to mark his death. Footage provided by KCNA to Reuters showed thousands of people visiting the square to pay their respects. They offered bouquets to the statues of Kim and his son who died late last year. North Korea is currently ruled by the third member of the dynasty, Kim Jong-un. A floral basket bearing his name was also seen at the memorial. Kim Il-sung founded the reclusive country in 1948. Sarah Charlton, Reuters.
