Audra Lowe: Thing I do doesn’t this mean combining your last name your families and the
bank accounts, it also involves the little things and I’m talking about your
different decorating techniques if you are married you know what I am talking
about. Today we’ve got designer Lorri Miller here she’s got some great tips to
help the newly weds blend there style with ease. Welcome to the show Lorri.
Lorri Miller: Hi, thank you.
Audra Lowe: To have you here, you look like a deep in though and thinking seriously. And its
probably because this is the tuff situation, you’ve got the newly weds the guy and
the girl and too totally different ways of decorating.
Lorri Miller: Right.
Audra Lowe: But you kind to do or buy our senses like sight, touch, smell and so forth and so
on right
Lorri Miller: Right.
Audra Lowe: How is that work when it comes to married couples.
Lorri Miller: Well men usually like to touch things, you know they like to touch for ball, they
like basketball so anything that has sort of a texture to it then they really like,
exactly.
Audra Miller: Okay the first thing that you talk about too is sight. So we are going to start over
here and all guys in our crew said, oh yes they were straight to this. So is this the
kind of entices the guy and saying, hey I got some sports memorabilia appears?
Or that will okay?
Lorri Miller: It is, yes it is. And the same like it doesn’t have to be so crazy and women don’t
have to be afraid of what the men’s collections are either.
Audra Lowe: Right.
Lorri Miller: There are just ways to kind to hang it and organize it.
Audra Lowe: So colors are big importance in you mind.
Lorri Miller: Huge.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Lorri Miller: Huge.
Audra Lowe: Alright in organizing that the way that is looks.
Lorri Miller: Right.
Audra Lowe: Okay, now let’s go over to touch that’s the next category. Where are we going for
touch right here in the front?
Lorri Miller: We are going to go right in the front.
Audra Lowe: Okay and how is that plan it?
Lorri Miller: We have a lot of texture, you have some velvet over here and you have your soaks
which is kind of softer and a little tougher and it give that feel and you know just
playing something.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Lorri Miller: and then you have your colors and that also goes with sight and touch because
when you see something as women we always want to touch things whether it’s
clothing you are going to the stores and you want how that feels and you don’t
really want to put on something itchy you want to be comfortable all day.
Audra Lowe: Okay.
Lorri Miller: So this is sort of your touch.
Audra Lowe: But the guys care about this kind of stuff? How do you get them involve and
figuring out touch and feel and all that good stuff. Is it the same for women?
Lorri Miller: It’s kind of both because men want to come in and they want to kick there shoes
off, and they want to sit in there chair and that’s the first thing and when I
decorating this one I need my leather sit.
Audra Lowe: Yeah, yeah.
Lorri Miller: And they make it appoint to say leather. So it’s like oh you want a pink leather I
don’t think so.
Audra Lowe: So okay, now let’s talk about smell because you say when you walking into your
home a married couple should feel comfortable to is this related to candles or just
the scented that you guys really do.
Lorri Miller: Just the scent that you really enjoy together and you know one person made prefer
something over and not that it’s always nice when you walk in to maybe a fresh
apple pie and there apple pie candles or there is always scents. there is always you
know a little aromatics.
Audra Lowe: Right.
Lorri Miller: And I was see a lot of men in there apartments with this for some reason I don’t
know if this is width.
Audra Lowe: That’s true; you know why I think because this is easy as drop the stick and there.
Lorri Miller: Maybe.
Audra Lowe: Let’s talk that later but smells good too.
Lorri Miller: Maybe.
Audra Lowe: Sound is another issue that we have paying attention too.
Lorri Miller: Yeah, because you walk in you either want music, some people like bubbling
mode so I have a little fattened but there sound that TV going you have always the
remote if you want TV.
Audra Lowe: Exactly. And last but not least of course taste because they always say the way
romance heart is don’t starve it. So you’ve got the great here obviously we know
and usually it gets a little more detail than that when it comes to the food but how
is that work with in comes to newly weds?
Lorri Miller: You know a lot of men do cooking now, they’re not afraid of it so one person
does one thing and the people have boil the rice and mash potatoes.
Audra Lowe: Or burn the rice because they don’t know how good that one. Okay so combining
all this things here together happy marriage?
Lorri Miller: Happy marriage.
Audra Lowe: You got it.
Lorri Miller: Happy home.
