Like many of our fine youth, he turned 21 and knocked back a couple of few drinks. Where it gets interesting is where he ended up. 

 

“Just hours into his 21st birthday, Eugene police say a drunk man crashed his car into an alcohol rehabilitation center. Police say damien bittar drove into ‘serenity lane’ on east 16th avenue early yesterday morning.”

 

You can imagine the scene was not so serene when cops pulled up as Bittar allegedly tried to get away. A writer for the Register-Guard writes... 

 

“Crashing your car into a rehab center while drunk is no way to celebrate your 21st birthday. Eugene police say a man was intoxicated when his 1997 Chevy Malibu slammed into the side of Serenity Lane at 616 E. 16th Ave. just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday — about 90 minutes after the driver officially turned 21.”

 

KEZI reports Serenity was not seriously damaged. But Bittar’s record might be. 

 

“Bittar is now serving his 21st birthday in jail with charges of DUI, reckless driving, and criminal mischief to the second degree.”
