PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL. Three of the 90's most popular male groups are joining forces for a U.S. tour dubbed "The Package Tour." R&B crooners Boys II Men and pop group 98 Degrees will open for five member boy band New Kids On The Block as they headline a 28 city-tour. Donnie Wahlberg and the singers all agreed the grouping is a natural fit. SOUNDBITE: Donnie Wahlberg, NKOTB, saying (English): "You know, it's funny because a lot of people don't think of these obvious packages. But this is like, to us, this is a no-brainer. It's like, why not get with like-minded - get like-minded fans together with, you know, like-minded bands and perform." Although the groups have been performing for over 60 years combined, Wahlberg said their passion for music keeps things interesting. SOUNDBITE: Donnie Wahlberg, NKOTB, saying (English): "This is what we worked our whole childhood and teenage years to accomplish. And you know, there were ups and downs and times when, you know, get frustrated and bored and have different things. But those are bumps in the road. The long term, I mean, this is what we all dreamed of doing and worked towards doing basically our whole lives." Now known as boy bands, one of the founding members of Boyz II Men, Wanya Morris, explained they all pre-date the phenomenon. SOUNDBITE: Wanya Morris, Boyz II Men, saying (English): "New Kids was a group, you know what I mean? Boyz II Men, we were a group. And there were other groups but then when you know you had the Backstreet Boys and 'N Syncs and you know, the boys - the this that and the other things. It just became a craze. So I guess you can say we are somewhat - all of us here are the progenitors of that." "The Package Tour" will start on May 31 in Connecticut.
