Lindsay Smith: So you’re in the meets of growing your business and you have more than two employees now. You’re old phone system probably you think cutting it and you probably need to find a great way to manage your email and back up documents. Well today we’re going to be talking with Shawn Chute from Sutus about an all at one system that is ideal for companies that are size three to 25.
Shawn Chute: It would be 25 users you have.
Lindsay Smith: It has and we’ve seen we got some phones here and looks like a hard driver or server?
Shawn Chute: It is in fact the server, it’s the only one appliance and what you find in that is pretty much everything in the small business needs. So you have your phone system which is capable of not only doing traditional of phone but also void. It have a male server a web server, you have a wireless access point of VP and Router, you have a POE switch to power the phones and it is fully integrated with the Polycoms new HD head phones on the desk there.
Lindsay Smith: So this is something that you would actually store with in your own office, you don’t have to go offsite and have your stuff hosted somewhere else, it’s something that is fully manageable.
Shawn Chute: Right, you refers to it as a CPE so a Costumer-premises Equipment and that’s in fact what it does, it goes on the costumer site and it provides them with all this services, but it goes one step further than that. Not only it is provide the services that I spoke about resident on the appliance, but it also then operates a gate way for both Sutus and our partners to deliver hosted services through that small business costumer.
Lindsay Smith: And it look in me that you got your laptop set up from in front of you here the of it can be managed straight?
Shawn Chute: Yeah, its all through one user interface, its browser base and the neat thing about it is wherever I do here in front of you we could do remotely. So if your looking at a small business that let’s say they still want to use or resale over there service provider to provide them with services. Anything I'm doing here we’re doing here in the key board you could also do remotely a game kind of lowering the cost of supporting this infrastructure.
Lindsay Smith: So when we we’re talking earlier a little bit about when you have a new employee that comes in, there’s a lot of operational maintenance that happens there’s step new email address for them. You can set up a phone system, you could tell me that you can do this in a really short of amount of time; can we demo some of that now?
Shawn Chute: That absolutely we can jump right in to that, I bring up one of the screens, what’s exciting about what Sutus does is anything, any service that we provide to the customer have to be controlled through this user inter face. And what would it take a customer and several resellers not hours, let’s say days to install can now be done in the few hours. So you can get a business up and running in literary two hours.
Lindsay Smith: How exciting is that?
Shawn Chute: So let’s just jump over here, what I’ll do is I’ll bring up the user interface that was just speaking too. And what you got here is, I log on to see the administrator before we started the show we took literary five minutes, we plug into your appliance and set up a business called ABC-co and I set myself up as the administrator. And here is where you can basically add employees, you could set up shared files, you could turn your wireless access point, you configure employees to access from home.
You could call forward your phone to a remote for like a cellphone, kind of like find me follow me solutions and everything is controlled through here. If I walked down and quickly I think what the things we should start on is just by basically setting up a new employee and we refer to everything has works spaces so you have a personal work space, and a share work space. And the case of individuals—let’s just go in, let’s add a new employee to this fictitious business that I just set up. We’ll go and we will key in the persons say we’re calling Joe Smith and we’ll go ahead and hit next.
Now what’s its doing is just registering this person. This person is now registered in the company directory so it has a place with the shared files. And now it’s asking do you want to give him a phone? And we’re going to say “Yes we want to give him a phone” and let’s say we want to assign the extension to him. He likes the showing the Olympics that coming to Vancouver, so he wants 2010 we’re then going to go in and actually move a sign him a local.
Now we’re going to assign them a phone. So let’s just take this phone, go ahead and re assign it, now let's going to take that phone and actually assign it to Joe Smith. Now it’s asking, do you want email service, I’m going to say yes go ahead and finish. So now what I have done in the matter what it took 30 seconds
Lindsay Smith: Probably.
Shawn Chute: I have now he’s got a local in the company directory serve. If you dial the company directory Joe Smith would be listed there, he has a phone on his desk ready to be plugged in and he has email the company directory.
Lindsay Smith: I really like that fact that—it’s taking if your are wizard too, it’s not like you have all this instruction that you have to sit there and try. Because I have done that before with phone systems with your typical tell-us-voice-mail and it’s like five to 10 different steps in order just to get that voice mail set up and it sounds to me like this is taking something like traditionally pretty complicated and simplifying it.
Shawn Chute: We spend enormous amount of time, pre-taking the product to market. We only took it to market to be in this year. We are really in focus groups working with small business say “How do we make this really simple”. How do we get it sort of the every day laming can go in and do those moves, moves out and changes himself and save themselves some money and we think we gone there.
Lindsay Smith: So if someone interested in getting this all in one solution, where they can find more information.
Shawn Chute: Product distributed through out North America right now, go to our web sites Seduce.com. And click on the buy-now and will connect you with one of our resellers or business partners.
Lindsay Smith: Okay, so that was Shawn, thank you so much for coming in today and sharing with us how we can spend a little a bit money out front but save ourselves loads of trouble down the road.
