The first member of this family to attend school Nelson Mandela continues to leave a mark in today’s society. Born July 18, 1918 hero in the Law of Degree and was an active member of the African National Congress, a youth wing into Johannesburg. Perhaps he is most admired for the 27 years he spent in jail in opposition in to a white minority government, its policy against racial separation nor as apartheid in South Africa.
Not only that he becomes a model, he was also a symbol of resistance of racism. In 1990, he was released in jail by the white government as it moves to compromise with the Blacks. After his release he was elected as a president of South Africa in the nation’s first all race election. Over the course of four decades he has received over 100 awards including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize.
