Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem in 1981. Her real name is not Portman but Hershlag. She was discovered in a pizza parlor at the age of 11 by modeling agent who offered her the opportunity to model but she asked to be introduced in the acting agent instead.
She went on to star in the film Léon at the age of 12 which is her first film and then she start in films such as the Beautiful Girls and Mars Attacks.
At the age of 14 in 1996, she was offered the role of Queen Amidala in the Star Wars sequel and in 1999 when the first of the peoples came out The Phantom Menace, she had became an international star.
In the year 2000, she decided to put acting aside and focus more on her studies by enrolling at Harvard University. Some of her most recent films include Garden State, Closer for which she was nominated for an Oscar and also won a Golden Globe and more recently, V for Vendetta.
