Barbara Adams: Hi! My name is Barbara Adams and I’m here to help because my daughter Jenny passed away six years ago from asthma. She was one of the worst asthmatics. She was in the upper one percent of the worst asthmatics and we had a 21-year battle that she comes to in 2002. We’ve been everywhere with her, pulmonologist, allergist, we were even at National Jewish which is the foremost hospital in Denver for asthma and lung diseases. And we just had a battle that she finally lost in 2002.

What Were Your Daughter’s First Asthma Symptoms?

Barbara Adams: She was maybe about eight or nine months and it was early morning, she was in her crib, we were in our bedroom and I could hear wheezing. My husband and I realized that that wasn’t normal and we took her to the pediatrician and it turned out that she had what was called bronchiolitis. Brionchiolitis is a forerunner for asthma and she had, I’d say three bouts of that between eight or nine months in a year and then when she was 18 months old, she was diagnosed with asthma.
