Audra Lowe: So let’s talk about clothes shall we. Please, when it comes to denim, usually we think casual, right? But better trend Jenn Falik says there’s plenty of other ways to dressing your denims and she’s here to show us in today’s Savvy Shopper.
Jenn Falik: A great pair of jeans is the ultimate styles staple and here to decode the denim do’s of the season is Andréa Bernholtz, the President of Rock & Republic.
Andréa thank you so much for joining us today.
Andréa Bernholtz: Oh no, thanks for coming down to my show room.
Jenn Falik: Yeah. It’s quite a nice place to spend an afternoon. And first of, I want you to tell me what are the three styles of denim that every woman needs to have in her closet this season.
Andréa Bernholtz: Three denim essentials would have to be black sexy skinny pair of jeans.
Jenn Falik: Okay.
Andréa Bernholtz: You can dress them up. You know they could have a zipper up the back for some versatility and then your classic straight leg—
Jenn Falik: Classic straight leg?
Andréa Bernholtz: A really clean denim that never goes out of style, it’s an always, always must have. And then there is distress, but done in the right kind of distressing. Those three, so it’s your black skinny, it’s your distress and your clean denim are your three you must haves.
Jenn Falik: And with distress, we can go very rock n’ roll but there’s also distress right it’s a little bit more wearable.
Andréa Bernholtz: Yeah, it’s almost like a slightly distress, maybe there’s a few holes. You don’t want to go, you know, for that completely reaped up kind of trashy thing.
Jenn Falik: Trashy is never good.
Andréa Bernholtz: Yeah, no, no. It’s has the final line. It’s still a great, you know, beautiful watch, great pair of jeans with some distressing and—
Jenn Falik: A little edgier.
Andréa Bernholtz: Exactly.
Jenn Falik: So you love dressing up denim, dressing down denim, you really can wear it every single day. So for women who are not really so comfortable yet with the idea of dressing up their denim, what do you recommend?
Andréa Bernholtz: I put her in a one shoulder blouse that is—
Jenn Falik: Okay.
Andréa Bernholtz: From Rock & Republic and as you can see, she’s got her beautiful blouse. She has great skinny jeans, dark denim, very classy and we did a color pop of the sexy shoe for the season. And her hair is up, beautiful clean jewelry and if this isn’t dressing up denim then nothing is. I mean she looks beautiful; she can go even on the red carpet like this. You know, it’s a great look out to dinner, you know, and it’s really comfortable too. Our denim is really soft, it’s really stretchy so you can go out and look fantastic. And these—.
Jenn Falik: Yes, anything you touch too is always—.
Andréa Bernholtz: Yeah, we like that.
Jenn Falik: A bright pair of shoes felt like a roughly sexy shimmering top, jewelry and you can take your denim from—
Andréa Bernholtz: Absolutely.
Jenn Falik: Nice. Well, thank you so much. This is definitely very, very helpful. And for more of Andréa’s ultimate amazing Rock & Republic lifestyle, check out rockandrepublic.com.
