A murder suspect tried to turn himself in but is told the precinct is closed. Before heading to a police station, you might want to check their operating hours as one murder suspect found out.The 45-year-old man from Sweden had been on the run since late 2011, after a warrant was issued following the fatal shooting of a gang leader. The male was under suspicion by law enforcement right away. Well after 15 months of hiding, he finally turned himself in but was told that the police station was closed. He spoke into the intercom claiming that he was a wanted man but was directed to go to another station. The suspect ventured to the other police station, where he was arrested. A police commander citied ongoing renovations as the reason for the man being turned away.Last year, police stations in Detroit decided to close their doors to the public every day from 4 P.M. until 8 A.M. in the morning. If a resident encountered a crime, they would have to call or report the incident online. The decision was made due to serious funding issues, however choosing to close the precinct was frightening because the city has one of the highest crime rates in America.
