Modern Eclectic Master Bedroom
Color Splash with David Bromstad
Albert: David is on his way over and he’s gong to redo our master bedroom.
Andre: I want a place that’s comfortable for us to come home to I want it to be like a showcase actually, a showcase yet comfortable at the same time.
David: Cool room, big huge bed.
Albert: Yeah, yeah.
Andre: Oh I see.
David: I love wallpaper so you definitely want that gone.
David: What’s the look that you want to go for in here?
Albert: Modern minimalism.
Andre: We were think masculine zen.
David: I like that. I like that.
Andre: Yeah. Can we try again.
David: What color?
Albert: Color we were thinking gray and the browns and the blues something like that.
David: The gray is a great color for the better because it’s relaxing it’s calming, it’s actually the color easiest for your eye to look at.
Andre: We have this dresser it’s kind of big for the space so we need to keep this in…
David: Do you need a dresser at all in here.
Albert: Yeah we probably do.
David: Shrink this down and all this can be your bed area.
Usually I don’t like to put beds in front of windows but because the window is the first thing you see right when you walk in the room the bed just makes perfect sense right there. So I definitely want to do a low platform bed that’s to give us something that has a lot of organic feel to it kind of harkening or the harkening.
Who says harkening? Harkening on the zen qualities something with lots of wood, very structural but definitely doesn’t overtake the space to save on space and to bring in that modern look get rid of the closet doors and do something on sliders you know taking up any space with opening up the doors and your cleaning it up and making it really look sleek.
David: You ready, are you ready?
Andre: Come and see Matt. Nice shirt.
David: It smashing after you after you. Ready.
Albert: Oh shut up.
Andre: My god.
This is so beautiful. I love that. I love what you did.
David: Very simple, very clean you guy wanted something zen and masculine and very modern and so we kept everything very simple.
Albert: And then the way the paint with the wall and the it’s just makes it look sane, it looks cozy but also makes it look larger doesn’t it.
David: Even though it’s a much darker color.
Albert: My goodness.
David: The beautiful dresser, you have lots of space, where lots of fabulous clothes.
Albert: The closet doors are just too much.
Andre: They roll beautifully.
Albert: It save on tons of space.
Andre: Oh thank goodness. I love this rug.
David: I have to be honest with you okay so I have been eyeing this rug for about 4 months for this company and I was like oh I’m going to order for these guys to see if I like it for myself. I already put my order in.
I gave you a great chandelier, very nice.
Albert: A little fine.
Andre: We were talking about it. The style.
David: You got that bay window and a lot of times, bay windows are used for a little seating area which is great but because you have such an odd shaped room and then you can put the bed right up to it and that way the bed doesn’t feel so gloating in the middle of the room type of feel
Albert: Yeah, yeah. I didn’t even notice all the different angles in the room until now.
David: You have an amazing architecture to the room. You got these low ceilings that are coved, you have all this architecture that’s great. You didn’t notice it because that wallpaper kind of was a little freaky though but now that everything is cohesive you get to notice every little detail.
