Hello everyone, this is Anthony Montalbano with InternetRiot.com and today's site I have here for you is mint.com. This is a free tool to manage your money as it says right in front of you. This is an excellent tool, I think. Anybody who is looking to budget their money or try to find a good way of when bills to be paid or how money in, how much you are spending every single day, you can set different budgets for different like category say like, you go to the bar all the time, you could set a budget flow for that. Say you want to spend more than 300 a month and you would actually get, you set your cellphone where you can get like text messages telling you that you are approaching your limits and stuff like this.
So if you have at the bar and you are spending a lot of money, and you are like, oh! crap I shouldn't spend any more. I am getting closer to my budget for the month. And you can do this with a lot of things, like your bills, you can set up, like you food, your groceries and maybe some miscellaneous entertainment money or whatever you want to do, but what you can do is it connects to your bank account, it connects to your credit cards and if you are like me I use my debit card 98% of the times when I shop anywhere. So it tracks everything and it categorizes where am I spending it. It actually builds up these graphs and shows you where your money is going and how you are spending it in and out and it's free.
So this is mint.com. Let me log in. I will show you a quick overview 1:18 too much what's going on. All my millions of dollars. So here we are inside of my Mint Account and one of the first things you are going to notice over time, you will get these different alerts and you can see there my alerts here, This month, you spent so much here. It says exceed my budget for Business Services by $28 for the month. How much I have spent on Restaurants? I have definitely ate too much out this month. Count down. This was telling me here. Then here it just telling me that usually I spent this much on Educational things and I happened to spent $848.
So right here I have set up different budgets. You can see I have my Shopping, my Alcohol & Bars, my Business, Restaurants, Groceries, Gas and there is my Total. So you can see how it gives you a good break down. You set the limits and it shows you, this line here actually shows you your current dates. You can see if you with underneath it.
So obviously these two here have already exceeded my budget and I am only half way to the month. So I should definitely stop eating out for the rest of the month and slow on on how much business stuff I buy. So you can, if you want click on Add Budget, you can create another one. These are the ones that I have created here.
And then the next thing you want to do is you can set up different alerts to be sent to your phone. So you can see Setup mobile delivery. Then you go Set Alert Types and then you when you are getting low for any of your balances, you can sit here and say mobile and it will send you a message. So for all these different things if I exceeded doing any of these things, I will get a text message or a message on my phone saying, watch what you are spending. So wherever you are at, you can manage your money as long as have cellphone. Most people have those these days and it's pretty cool.
Finally, one more thing I would like to show is the these Trends. Let me go to the Trends tab and now you get a good visual representation of all of your money being spent throughout the month. And you can see here all the food I have spent, on eduction and a good break down of all of the other things I have done throughout the month.
Here is a graph here and here is like all of the different foods, restaurants, places, all kind of things I have done throughout the month. Now we get a good idea, well here actually spending a lot of your money.
