"Shira Lazar: Hey I'm Shira Lazar backstage at the Grammys brought to you by Turbo Tax with Mindless Behavior, the cutest thirteen and fourteen year olds. I mean, you are the youngest musicians I am interviewing here today. Mindless Behavior: Oh wow. Shira Lazar: Is that an honor? Mindless Behavior: Yes it is. Shira Lazar: That means you’re starting early. Mindless Behavior: Yeah we are the youngest. I'm looking around and yeah we are. Shira Lazar: You’re like the mini of the people I interview. You have everything smaller and cuter, like your bling even. Mindless Behavior: Aw, thank you so much. You are too. Yeah I like how you've got the all black. Shira Lazar: Awe look at you already liking the ladies. So tell me how you guys got together. It was an audition? Mindless Behavior: Yes. Shira Lazar: You guys all auditioned in LA. Mindless Behavior: But yeah, we auditioned two years ago and the head of our production company at Conjunction Productions, Walter Milsap, he brought the idea to Vincent Herbert at Interscope, who manages Lady Gaga and Mashan. Shira Lazar: Look at that. Mindless Behavior: Yeah. So Walter teamed up with part of our management team, Tisha Gamble, and yeah they had a huge audition with like 600 kids. Shira Lazar: Wow and you guys made it. Mindless Behavior: Yeah we made it. Shira Lazar: So are these the younger ones? I feel like you’re the older ones and you’re the younger. Mindless Behavior: No actually we're the two youngest ones. It kind of goes in order right now. He's the oldest, 2nd oldest, 3rd and 4th. He's the baby. Shira Lazar: I hope you stay grounded, I know you've been opening up for bands like Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber. Mindless Behavior: Yeah. Shira Lazar: Pretty cool. Mindless Behavior: Yeah. Shira Lazar: So what is it like opening for Bieber, who's the biggest thing on earth right now? Mindless Behavior: Amazing, he has so many fans. He’s really humble. He gives us great advice He's a really nice guy. Shira Lazar: So what advice did he give you? Mindless Behavior: Don't get nervous, which made us more nervous. [laughter] Mindless Behavior: He said just stay humble and when you go on stage the girls are going to love you. Just rock it out. [laughter] Shira Lazar: It's all about the girls. Mindless Behavior: Yeah it is all about those girls. Shira Lazar: So what is your music all about? How would you describe it to people? Mindless Behavior: Our music is ambient pop and our album, “Number One Girl”, is coming out really soon, early summer. Cause we're lookin' for our number one girl. Most of our songs talk about girls. It's just all about the girls. Shira Lazar: But you guys are talkin’ about girls at such a young age. Mindless Behavior: Yeah well. [laughter] Mindless Behavior: I've noticed that, yeah. Puppy love Shira Lazar: It's puppy love, innocent love. So, finally do you have a person that's guided you in your careers? Your short careers. One person you would say? Mindless Behavior: Like that we know? Shira Lazar: Yeah or somebody like a musical mentor, friends of yours, anyone that gives you expert advice. Mindless Behavior: I would have to say our team our Conjunction family. Yeah Walter Milsap, Tisha Gamble our team. It really helps me. They push me to do better.
