Male: It was Mick Jagger’s passion for blues that led him just start a band with childhood friend Keith Richards. Charlie Watts, Brian Jones and Bill Wyman also came on board the group they called the Rolling Stones and a self-titled album was released in 1964. Swift success followed and the Jagger/Richards penned songs, The Last Time and satisfaction topped the charts. But while the Stones’ popularity soared, their curfews proved problematic, leading to arrest and Brian Jones’ suicide. The Stones with backstage groupies were intimate. In 1971, Jagger married activist and jetsetter Bianca Morena De Macias. They became a newbie service. The bride was four months pregnant with their daughter Jade at the time. A pool of four photographers have been invited to record the ceremony but more than a hundred swarmed through the chamber when the couple arrived.

Jagger’s love life continued to provide tabloid fad. He left Bianca for model Jerry Hall in 1979, the relationship ended after the child—were a concern to American censors. But—on the popular Ed Sullivan show. Jagger was ordered to change the words “Let’s spend the night together” to “Let’s spend sometime together.” He compromised by a number of lyrics, later saying he subscribed Fat Domino’s credo that you should never sing the lyrics out very clearly. For more than 30 years, the Stones wowed audiences with their amazing live performances.

Crowned Rock’s Satanic Majesties, they delighted in pushing boundaries and upsetting establishment. Jagger also embarked a movie career starring in Nicolas Roeg’s Performance in 1968 and Tony Richardson’s Ned Kelly in 1970. He appeared in several other films and started a production company, Jagged films in 1995.

He pursued his own projects. They’ve included World War II spy thriller Enigma, a remake of the George Cuker classic, The Women. A wide reader, Jagger’s interest in philosophy and literature gave depth and resonance to his songwriting. For his solo album, he’s teamed up to write songs with the likes of Lenny Kravitz and Wyclef Jean, producing a fusion of styles quite different from the Stones usual Louvre. And he collaborated with The Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart to provide music for the remake of the film Alfie.

For someone who spent his career living the sex, drugs and rock and roll cliché, Jagger has amazing endurance. Now on his 60s, the grandfather of British Rock still performs high octane shows to pack stadiums and with no fans to give up to him. Now a British music institution, Jagger was awarded the knighthood in 2002. So Mick appreciated the gesture, he admitted he received a substantial amount of reading from friends and family. Jagger acknowledged that it was unusual for someone in his line of work to receive such an honor and gave credit to his Rolling Stones band mates.

Mick Jagger: It’s great to get an honor from your country and I think it—they all had others from other countries. I think it's also reflects really wonderfully on the all the achievements of The Rolling Stones over the last 40 years of music that we’ve been a band and so I think it’s a great something that we really reflex on all of us.

As a knight of the realm and one of Britain’s richest man, Sir Mick Jagger has made a big journey from his musical beginnings as a 1960’s rebel rouser. But the weathered and workaholic front man of the greatest rock and roll band in the world says his knighthood that he’s giving up his day job. He plans to keep touring with the Stones for as long as it gives him satisfaction.
