He's not fighting bad guys, but this superhero is cleaning up Tokyo. His name is Mangetsu-man, which means Mr. Full Moon and he says it's not just litter he wants to get rid of, but all the negativity in the world. And like all heroes, he never reveals his identity, but rather speaks via a computer-generated Smartphone voice. SOUNDBITE: Mangetsu-man, speaking through automated diction software (Japanese): "When I saw the first full moon in 2013 I heard this voice from above that said 'mangetsu-man' and that's when I got my task to help bring peace to the world. Unlike other heroes I don't have any special powers or weapons. Just my broom and dust pan. But I want to prove that I can help bring peace to the work through the power of cleaning." His mission is attracting attention and he has regular volunteers to help out. SOUNDBITE: Miyu Sakurai, 17-year-old student, saying (Japanese): "When I have time I try to help out with the cleaning. That's why I'm here today." SOUNDBITE: Fuka Iwasaki 5-year-old, saying (Japanese) : "I'm doing this to help mangetsu-man." But like the villains of superhero comics, trash is never completely defeated - so even with his army of helpers, Mangetsu-man will continue his war on litter, one sweep at a time.
