Make Simple Tasks Easier in Windows 7
Welcome to Tekzilla Daily, I’m Veronica Belmont. Too often a simple task in Windows requires way too many clicks. In most cases, you can find a third party application to do it for you. But, do you really want to have to install a new program each and every time? I’m doing NIR command or NirCmd. The Swiss army knife of command line tools, letting you create a short cut for dozens of useful commands. Here’s how it works.
Once you’ve downloaded and extracted the program, copy the pathname of where the nircmd.exe is located. On the desktop, right-click and select New Shortcut. That location, paste the file path along with the command for your desired action. Well that should be easy about NirCmd’s website. That’s it.
And of course, you can edit the properties of these shortcuts to add a key combo to activate it. This allows you to do anything from turning off the monitor, turning on the screensaver, mute or unmuting the volume, clearing the clipboard and much more. So if you’re looking for a do-it-all tool for some of Windows Simple Tasks, check out NirCmd.
