A Fresno County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed the four-year-old lion — named Cous Cous — when it became apparent the lion wouldn’t let anyone in to help the girl. (Via KSEE ) (VO-Fresno Bee) According to The Fresno Bee , the victim’s father identified her as 24-year-old Dianna Hanson. Previous reports indicated the victim was 26. (VO-Los Angeles Times)(Pull quote) A writer for the Los Angeles Times says it’s unclear why the young woman would be left unsupervised with the lion.
