Rhiannon Ally: Helping kickoff the summer movie season is the flick Letters to Juliet. A perfect date movie, the backdrop is Italy and the story is all about looking for love. We talked with the film stars.
Amanda Seyfried pours her heart into Letters to Juliet as an American woman turns her Italian vacation into a romantic mission.
Amanda Seyfried: It’s about love. It’s about finding your true love. She decides to go on astray to find out what’s behind the whole tradition of leaving letters at the wall and why women go and picked the letters and then respond and how wonderful that is. And she kind of wants to write story on it. In order to get further in her journalism career and she comes across a letter that was written 50 years ago and asked to write back. Asks all the secretaries if she can write back and she writes back in the response hits this woman who’s in her 70s and she comes to Verona because she got this letter and wants to find her true love. That she wrote about 50 years ago.
Rhiannon Ally t: Filming on location in Verona which was the setting for Romeo and Juliet, helped get the casts in the film into the right spirit.
Gael Garcia Bernal: Verona in itself is incredible. I mean it has everywhere wherever where you go around here is just beautiful.
Christopher Egan: I mean it’s really one of the main characters in that movie and it was a joy. Everyday was, I mean nothing to complain about just a dream job to shoot in a such historical rich culture to work with the Italian crews. I mean it was just amazing.
Rhiannon Ally: But Amanda says, “You don’t have to fly to Europe to find love.”
Amanda Seyfried: Anyone can fall in love anywhere. People could fall in garbage can, like I don’t know—I mean it is very nice to be in such a aesthetically beautiful city with lot of history but I think love can be found anywhere and you just to be open to it.
Rhiannon Ally: Grab someone you care about and open Letters to Juliet.
