Leifsdottir by Anthropologie: Designer Interview & First Look
At this collection is called the Catalonian Affair and this inspiration started from the work of Salvador Dali and his released work between light paintings but also his life, his was quite glamorous, flamboyant personality. And to really get in the mood, I took a trip to Barcelona and fell in love with the city and I did go see a bull fight. And I did go see a flamingo dancing so that’s what gave to collection sort of sensual moves. It’s like a life loving, sensual collection that is sort of ought to spend your life in art. We tried to do a very form feeding bottoms with the fabrics with lot of stretch for more high-waisted pants and pull out jackets like this leather one. We made below preferences of the epaulettes and the bull fighter jacket and more structured pieces.
I think our garments always have texture of our garment have a lot of details so this is in particularly we were really in to do in fabric manipulation and draping in the soft fabrics. So lot of recording and pleading, stocking and folding fabrics to create that nice cut to silhouette in a soft way and then we layer in this painterly bright magenta, print pink scarlet and this royal blue and I’m just trying to create this very vibrant feeling against the graphic background.
We have a lot of it lace in a collection as well as this lace-fur type of thing in a little pieces. We have more sculpture and draping of epaulette type shoulders in soft garments. We have beautiful buttons that have that old bull Spanish feeling that reproduced from the empty pieces that really keep a nice touch to your collection. I think that all dress is going to be really good decision, I think that your friends have beautiful, artistic dresses in self are going to be the one hand.
