Hi! I am Mary Gallagher Stout and today we are dying Easter eggs. Right now, I am going to show you a rubber band technique that will give your eggs stripes. It’s very easy. You just get your water, and about a tablespoon of vinegar, and some food dye. A couple of squirts to make it nice and pretty. I am going to stir it up. There is my beautiful dye. What you are going to do is you are just going to take your egg and you are going to wrap it with the rubber band. They like to be difficult, you are just going to try and put stripes wherever you want because that’s what’s going to happen where the rubber band is, that's where the paint the dye will not go. Then you will get all these really cool stripes. So just put the rubber band on, pop it in the water, let it sit and seep, just like you are doing regular eggs. However, the longer you keep it in the dye, the darker they will become. Here is one that we put in ahead of time, so we can see what it would look like. We are going to dry it off. Look I am caught red-handed. So we are going to dry it off and just know that the dye will wipe off. Then we are going to take off the rubber band and check it, striped, very cool. You can put them in any kind of configuration and it’s really fun and really exiting. We went through a bunch of different methods. I hope one of them becomes a family favorite. So have a Happy Easter and thanks for watching.
