Pamela Ferrell: Hi! I am Pamela Ferrell with Cornrows & Company Natural Hair Care. Today, I am going to show you, how to do a simple cornrow hairstyle. In this clip, I am going into show you, how to section and plan the hairstyle.
Our plan is to do a hairstyle where everything, is going to come to the back and we are going to have a nice little chignon roll in the back. We are going to keep it real simple; we are going to do no more than about 5-6 cornrows and I'll show you, how to do both an Invert cornrow and an Outward cornrow.
So let's begin, what we want to do is section, with our fingers and I am going to just section off, this bottom part this is where I want the roll to fall. So again, pull that hair back and decide where your want your bun, your chignon, your roll and I wanted to have a little bit of lift and it's going to come right, about there, and release your fingers first and that's why, it's important that we blow dry the hair so that it's easy to comb, easy to section.
Okay now, I can clean up the section, with my rattail comb, get a nice uniform parting, here, we go. Now we are going to do two invert cornrows, we are going to bring them, both to the center. The invert cornrow, is flat and this is a small section as you see. So it's not going to be a long corner, but at least you will get to see the hand movement, for the invert cornrow.
So that's how you plan and section for the cornrowed hairstyle. In the next, clip I am going to show you, how to do an Invert cornrow.
