What are the most common oral health diseases and conditions you see in your office?
Dr. John Joseph: Of course the primary condition we see is decay, and that’s why the oral cavity that’s the vast majority we see here in this office. Primarily is due to poor oral hygiene or bad habits especially eating a lot of sweets or not brushing your teeth, and so we in dentistry we cannot take care of a lot of these things. We take care of as far as taking care of these treatments, as far getting rid of the decay, and kind of create now a very healthy oral environment.
How is dental health related to the overall health of my body?
Because you know dental health I mean as far as this is the first avenue of digestion is chewing the food properly, so if you don’t have good teeth or strong tissue to support the teeth, and all some of the function is very, very poor. So I mean that causes problems, so everything is interrelated and that’s why dental care is so important.
How often do I need to visit my dentist?
We have people to come in every six months or even sometimes four times a year. Do try to prevent this problem from happening. Some people will only have to come in once a year. They got good oral health or got good genes that they don’t any decay or do all the right things, and never had any history of any type of dental decay or periodontal disease, anytime we have to see this once a year just to check and be sure everything is good. Some people will have to come four times a year to be sure that they are on top of things, so we try to get people in here so it’s more preventative instead of having to react towards a particular problem.
