Host: Humans have a wonderful affinity with water. We are largely made of the substance so perhaps this is the reason we feel very at home lounging about in it. Many people find swimming and soaking quite healing. Now there is scientific evidence to prove this.
People with osteoarthritis have been found to benefit from hydrotherapy. Reduction in pain, and increased strength and mobility come from taking over a regular deep. The buoyancy takes all the pressure off the joints while providing ample resistance for a decent workout.
People with spinal injuries may benefit particularly from hydrotherapy. Vast improvements have been seen in patients who take two sessions a week over a nine-week period. Hydrotherapy is a gentle way to water down the pain.
Just because every human has about the same number of hair follicles as the chimpanzee doesn’t mean you should monkey about with your crop. Your hair is your living style indicator. What does your hair say about you?
Each person has between 90,000 to 150,000 hairs on their head depending on their color and gene pool. The healthiest of us lose between 40 to 100 hairs a day but if you crash diet you can expect your hair loss right to jump dramatically. A single strand of healthy hair can withstand 100 grams of weight. Theoretically, this means your full headed hair should be able to support two well-fed elephants so eat plenty of whole meal products, green vegetables, oily fish, vitamin C and D to avoid being squashed by well meaning pachyderms and to keep your head of hair thick, lustrous and break-free.
Avoid products containing alcohol. These are very harsh on your hair. Wash and dry gently. Combing is less damaging than brushing.

Now the women in that activity and taking the HRT for a short period that won’t have a very significantly increased risk is probably a useful thing to do but it does have to be a decision that individual person meets the advice of her own doctor.
Host: In the 70’s, HRT had a bad reputation as it was linked with the significant risk of endometrial cancer but since then balancing hormones had been added and HRT seems to be safe for women for short term use. Discuss with your doctor whether it’s the right path for you.
